There is a range of accommodation available both on and off the hospital compound.
For short-term visitors the Hospital Guesthouse offers good, clean rooms with meals provided if necessary. The hospital also provides several furnished houses that can be rented for the duration of your stay.
For long-term personnel there is a pool of housing available, managed by the hospital. These houses are well maintained and set-up to a good standard. All these houses are unfurnished.
Load-shedding (power cuts) are common in Nepal. They may be scheduled or 'unscheduled' so be prepared! The hospital has its own generator so these aren't really an issue on compound. However, not all off-compound housing has generator facilities. Home inverters and batteries are now becoming more popular, allowing continual lighting during load-shedding. Below shows some typical housing.
